Christmas Hats and Charity Fundraising

The Build up to Christmas has been a busy time for the team here at S&L Personnel and not just when it comes to finding work for local people. The team had a great time running a charity tombola stall at this years Hinckley Christmas light switch on and have also been collecting donations whilst giving away Santa hats and Balloons at other Christmas light switch on celebrations across the area, all to raise funds for the Hinckley Area foodbank. All of the prizes, hats and balloons were donated by S&L Personnel and staff, and all of the proceeds raised have been donated to the Charity. The Hinckley Area foodbank provides emergency food parcels for local individuals and families across the borough and provides a much needed life-line when people need it the most. The foodbank works in partnership with frontline agencies such as Social workers, Housing officers, Family Support workers and District nurses to identify and refer families in the area who are most vulnerable. Andy Cleaver, Manager of the foodbank, commented, “The foodbank has been used thousands of times over the last couple of years, and usage will increase at this time of the year. Families, many of which are in paid employment, face a very real choice of heating or eating. This is a choice no one should have to face, but with the ever increasing cost of living, more and more people find themselves needing to come to us” Simon Sparrow, Director at S&L Personnel said “ We are proud to announce that the team raised a fantastic £500, which will go a long way to support the excellent work that the foodbank”. He added “Although we are at our busiest at this time of year in recruitment, it was really great to take a little time out to get involved with and support our local community.
